Transitional Housing Barn, Inc. is a secular non-profit organization that is designed to help those homeless families with overcoming obstacles and offering assistance with emotional and financial support. BARN also has tutoring and counseling programs for children that enter into the programs.
The Prince William County Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) runs a two-year transitional housing program to assist those in need (families) with movement to independent living and becoming self-sufficient. Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington~Application St. Margaret of Cortona Transitional Housing strives to assist homeless families with support and services to reestablish independence after release from a homeless shelter. Good Shepard Housing Foundation serves low-income single parents, families, and seriously mental ill clients. Common Recovery is a Christian faith based program that strives to assist individuals that are struggling with addiction. Common Recovery provides a community of recovery through services, spiritual growth and peer housing. ARC of Greater Prince William offers a group home setting and programs for individuals living with intellectual disabilities. Carried To Full Term provides housing and other services for mothers experiencing a crisis as a result of pregnancy. Oxford Houses are self-supporting drug free homes at a low-cost that help support individuals while preventing relapse. Application Operation Renewed Hope Foundation, Inc. strives to provide quality housing and supportive services to homeless veterans. Friendship Place, Veterans First is a Rapid Rehousing program built to address needs and prevent veteran homelessness. |
Shelters |
Bill Mehr Drop-In Center is a day time shelter where homeless men and women can get out of harsh weather conditions. The shelter is operated by the Prince William County Department of Social Services in partnership with the Cooperative Council of Ministries.
Hilda Barg Homeless Prevention Center strives to assist families in finding permanent solutions to get out of poverty. Winter Shelter provides those in need with shelter to protect them from hypothermia during the winter season. The ACTS Rapid Re-Housing Program is designed for individuals who are homeless, living in a car, in the street, or living in other housing which as been deemed unsuitable for human habitation The ACTS Beverly Warren Emergency Shelter provides a safe place to stay for the individuals living in a car, on the street, or in other housing that has been deemed unsuitable for human habitation. The shelter serves single men and families with children in form style rooms for up to a couple of weeks. SERVE operates by providing emergency housing and assistance to families and individuals in need, in Manassas. Manassas Hope for the Homeless Hypothermia Shelter was created to provide warm shelter for the homeless during winter seasons.
